Passport Issues
 
 A. Replacement of Old Passport/Hand-written Passport:
 
All concerned are requested to take note that after March 2015, holders of hand written passports are most likely to face difficulties during their international travel using hand written passports. Hence, holders of hand written passports are requested to take Machine Readable Passport (MRP) before March, 2015.

However, in case of emergency, hand written passports may be issued with validity for five years and such passports may also be renewed for a maximum period of five years.
 
 
This Mission has been processing Machine Readable Passports (MRP) since May, 2012. Those who already have Bangladesh passport can apply to the Embassy for a new MRP passport. Applicant has to submit the following to the Consular Section of the Embassy:  

a)       
filled in Bangladesh MRP Application Form (DIP Form -1)

b)              
Old original passport

c)               
National ID/Birth Certificate (with 17 digit registration number)

d)             
Appropriate fee (bank transfer/deposit slip of the transaction to the designated bank)

e)             
2 copies of recently photographed passport size photographs (40mm X 50mm) with the face clearly visible (no cap/covering, side face, dark background etc. is accepted)
  
B. Damaged Passport
 
In case of damaged passport, the holder of the passport can have a new MRP by surrendering damaged one and follow same procedure as mentioned above (A).
 
CLost Passport
 
If the passport is lost, holder can apply for a new MRP. Applicant has to submit the following to the Consular section of the Embassy:
 
a)          A police report for lost passport

b)          Photocopy of the lost passport or document in support of Bangladesh nationality.

c)          Duly filled in prescribed application form (MRP form)

d)          National ID/Birth Certificate (with 17 digit registration number)

e)         Appropriate fee (bank transfer/deposit slip of the transaction to the designated
 bank)

f)         
2 copies of recently photographed passport size photographs (40mm X 50mm) with the face clearly visible (no cap/covering, side face, dark background etc. is accepted)
Important Notes:
 
I. Personal presence at the Embassy is must to obtain Machine Readable  Passport (MRP), to record biometric features of the applicant.

II. All fees must be paid through bank transfer/deposit slip of the transaction to the designated bank should be submitted along with the application. The Embassy does not have any cash transaction for its services.

III. Under MRP system, all Bangladeshi citizens need to have separate passport including children, will be required. No Children Endorsement is allowed.

1. Normal (delivery time 30 days): US$ 100
2. Urgent/Express (delivery time 15 days): US$ 200

Special Remark
 
BANGLADESH EMBASSY IN ANKARA DOES NOT ACCEPT ANY PAYMENT IN CASH. NECESSARY FEES MUST BE DEPOSITED TO THE ASSIGNED BANK. ORIGINAL DEPOSIT SLIP (DEKONT)/ BANK TRANSFER SLIP SHOULD BE SUBMITTED WITH THE APPLICATION.
 
AMOUNT DEPOSITED AT THE BANK ACCOUNT CANNOT BE REFUNDED. SO, THE APPLICANT IS REQUESTED TO BE SURE OF THE EXACT AMOUNT REQUIRED FOR THE SERVICE.
